Earlier this month, our friends over at Federal Premium® announced the launch of their newest advancement in carry ammunition, the 30 Super Carry™. We are proud to team up with them as their exclusive launch partner, offering the S&W® Shield™ Plus and S&W Shield EZ® chambered in Federal’s 30 Super Carry.
So you might be wondering what the benefits are to this new caliber; allow us to explain… The .312-inch-diameter projectile used in 30 Super Carry allows for greater magazine capacity than 9mm Luger, yet delivers equal muzzle energy and performance. Federal’s new high-performance 30 Super Carry handgun cartridge delivers 9mm Luger terminal performance using a smaller case to provide big benefits for concealed carry.
The easy to rack, easy to load, and easy to conceal line of Shield EZ pistols previously had a standard magazine capacity of 8+1 in both 9mm and 380 Auto, with the new 30SC cartridge we were able to up that capacity to 10+1. Built on the same frame size as the 9mm Shield EZ means that not only should you anticipate the recoil to feel lighter than shooting a 9mm, but you also have complete holster compatibility.

The Shield Plus hit the ground running in March of 2021 and the line has continued to grow ever since. The newest member of the Shield Plus family is chambered in 30 Super Carry, and boasts an outrageous capacity for a micro compact handgun. With an impressive capacity of 12+1 in the flush magazine, the extended magazine’s capacity takes it to the next level; more closely matching the capacity of a full frame M&P than it does a single stack Shield, with a capacity of 15+1.
Up your EDC game this year with more from Smith & Wesson® and Federal Premium’s 30 Super Carry.
