This course will provide trainers and individual officers with the techniques necessary to effectively employ firearms during conditions of reduced light. The students will be exposed to flashlight techniques as well as the use of the firearm when ambient light alone is available. The course explores the problems associated with reduced light: target location and identification, depth perception, movement, auditing distracting and the lack of definitive sight alignment. Since the majority of gunfights occur in low-light conditions, students need to learn how to operate effectively in these situations.
Students are encouraged to bring their own issued firearm, duty gear and flashlights.
Ammunition is included in the tuition fee.
Course Length: 3 days – Approximate class time 8:00AM – 4:30 PM
