All armorer courses will be 1 day/ 8-hour courses. Students will be provided with both the weapon and all required tools to complete the course. Performing lessons repeatedly will insure good hands-on instruction for a better understanding of this firearm.Course Length: 1 day/7 hoursApproximate class time 8:00AM – 4:30PM&nbsp;<h2>M&amp;P SHIELD ARMORER</h2>This course is designed for Smith &amp; Wesson M&amp;P Shield Pistol. Focus will be on nomenclature, field stripping and maintenance, safeties and safety checks, detailed disassembly, troubleshooting and minor repairs. Performing lessons repeatedly will insure good hands-on instruction for a better understanding of this firearm. Students must attend the M&amp;P Pistol Armorer course the day before to be able to register for this 4 hour course.Course Length: 1 day/4 hoursApproximate class time 8:00AM – 12:00PM&nbsp;<h2>M&amp;P15 RIFLE ARMORER</h2>This course is designed for Smith &amp; Wesson M&amp;P15 Centerfire Rifles and Carbines. Focus will be on nomenclature, field stripping and maintenance, safeties and safety checks, detailed disassembly of the upper assemblies and lower receivers, troubleshooting and minor repairs. Performing lessons repeatedly will ensure good hands-on instruction for a better understanding of this rifle.Course Length: 2 days/14 hoursApproximate class time 8:00AM – 4:30PM&nbsp;<h2>REVOLVER/J FRAME DAO REVOLVER ARMORER</h2>This new 3 day course is designed for Smith &amp; Wesson duty-type revolvers including the J Frame. It will focus on inspection, trouble shooting and repair techniques. Topics to be covered are disassembly, fitting of new parts and reassembly. Lessons will be performed on past designs first to expose the Armorer to revolver function and then present designs and repair techniques will be covered in depth to ensure confidence in revolver maintenance and repair.Course Length: 3 days/21 hoursApproximate class time 8:00AM – 4:30PMThe prerequisite for attending a Smith &amp; Wesson Academy class is that you are Active Law Enforcement (LE), Military, or Armed Security Service and acquiring these skills and certification to work on your department/unit/company firearms.<h2>ADMISSION TO LAW ENFORCEMENT COURSES</h2>Our goal at the Smith &amp; Wesson is to insure that each student gets the greatest possible benefit from each Training course. We do this by providing not only the best instruction but also the best possible package of services to allow you to focus on coursework.Admission to any Smith &amp; Wesson Armorers Course is open to all members of law enforcement and correction agencies, military police and security officers.Most courses are offered periodically throughout the year.
