The Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center is a public shooting facility staffed by range officers. Shooting lanes are available to licensed or unlicensed members and non-members. A selection of Smith & Wesson firearms, and targets are available. There are two classrooms and a variety of support facilities including 3 indoor, 25 yard ranges for members and private groups and a well-equipped multi-media room. Memberships are also available at the Shooting Sports Center and includes a safety orientation done by our staff. Shooting Sports Center Retail Store The Smith & Wesson Retail Store, located inside the Shooting
Sports Center, offers an extensive collection of authentic trademark
apparel and accessories like shirts, jackets and hats. The store is
fully stocked with Smith & Wesson firearms, ammunition and related
shooting supplies. Historical Exhibit A Smith & Wesson special historical exhibit is located on-site. The exhibit focuses on the development of firearms and the critical role that the Connecticut Valley firearms industry has had in firearms design and manufacture in America. This display changes throughout the year. Courses Expanded course offerings to include evenings and weekend courses for the Massachusetts License to Carry and the Connecticut License to Carry, in addition to our standard weekday programs. The Shooting Sports Center also offers a variety of firearms training programs for civilians which can be viewed on this website under Personal Courses. Competitions Smith & Wesson IDPA League Defensive pistol shooting as a sport is quite simply the use of practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated “real world” self-defensive scenarios. Shooters competing in Defensive Pistol events are required to use practical handguns and holsters that are truly suitable for self-defense use. The Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center is host to the IDPA Winter Nationals in late February. “Try-a-Gun”
Use of a handgun, one box of ammunition and three targets. Please call for pricing . Private Lessons Private lessons are available with one of our firearms instructors. Lessons can be scheduled 7 days a week. The times available are between the hours of 8am – 10 am Monday through Saturday, 9am – 12 pm on Sundays. The cost is $85 per hour plus ammunition. Please call to schedule an appointment. (413) 846-6400. Range Rentals Agencies may inquire about renting one of our 25 yard firing ranges for training or qualifications. Cost is $85 per hour plus $10 per student. Additionally, there are 20 shooting lanes open to our students and the public. |
