This Privacy Policy (“this Policy”), effective as of October 18, 2005, describes certain current policies of SMITH & WESSON CORP. and its corporate affiliates, (“we”, “us” or “S&W”) with respect to our collection and use of certain information. This Policy applies to information collected by us online through S&W websites. To the extent that we collect personal information through other means, our policies may be different from those described in this Policy. By using our website, you consent to our collection and use of your information as described in this Policy or as the same may be amended or modified from time to time as indicated herein below. Collection and Use of Information. When you access our website we may collect certain anonymous information relating to such access which allows us to provide a better website experience. We will not remove or modify information associated with your prior purchase or registration of a product. Additionally, it may be impossible for us to completely delete or modify information without some residual information remaining in back-ups or other historical databases we may maintain. Finally, we cannot be responsible for verifying the authenticity of requests to remove, update or correct information. However, we reserve the right to refuse to modify information if we request proof of authority and the requesting party does not furnish appropriate proof of authority. Please note that we can only modify information in our records and do not have the ability to modify or remove third-party records. 4. Security. We take those precautions that we deem reasonable and appropriate to maintain the security of personal information in our possession. However, we cannot and we do not assume any responsibility for a compromise of security. We do not maintain control or security over information in the possession of third parties. 5. Third Party Website Linkage. This Privacy Policy applies solely to S&W. This site may contain links to websites owned or operated by third parties. Your use of a third party website is done at your own risk and subject to any terms and conditions of use, policies regarding the collection of information, privacy policies and other practices and procedures for such websites. S&W is not responsible for any such terms and conditions of use, policies regarding the collection of information, privacy policies or other practices and procedures of the third party websites that you may access through links from S&W. 6. Policy Changes. From time to time we may use information in ways not previously described in this Policy. We may amend this Policy from time to time. Any material changes or amendments to our practices governed by this Policy will be posted on our website to keep you aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we may disclose it to third parties. Any policy amendments shall automatically be effective thirty (30) days after they are posted on our website. If you object to any changes in this Policy, you should submit a request to remove your information from our records as described above in paragraph 3. Special Notification for California Residents. Individual customers who reside in California and have provided their personal information to S&W may request information about our disclosures of certain categories of personally identifiable information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Such requests must be submitted to us at the addressed or email address listed in paragraph 3 above. Within thirty (30) days of receiving such a request we will provide a list of the categories of personal information disclosed to third parties for third party direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, along with the names and addresses of these third parties. This request may be made no more than once per calendar year. We reserve the right to not fulfill your request should it be submitted to an address other than that which is listed in paragraph 3 above. |
