Admission to Law Enforcement Academy Courses
Our goal at the Smith & Wesson Academy is to insure that each student gets the greatest possible benefit from each Academy course. We do this by providing not only the best instruction but also the best possible package of services to allow you to focus on coursework.
Admission to the Smith & Wesson Academy is open to all members of law enforcement and correction agencies, military police and security officers.
Most Academy courses are offered periodically throughout the year to give you the greatest scheduling flexibility-please see course schedules. Class sizes are limited to insure that each student receives the optimum level of personal attention, so register early to be sure of a reservation. Use our online registration forms.
The Smith & Wesson Academy is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Education.
Tuition is payable prior to the start of each course, by check, purchase order or Visa/MasterCard. Refund Policy: Tuition is refundable prior to the start of the program less Administrative Fee. Details in Enrollment Agreement. For cancellations an Administrative Fee of 5% or $50, whichever is less, will be charged. A $25 Administrative fee will be charged for course changes. Hotel accommodations, meals and car rental fees are not included in the tuition. Smith & Wesson Academy courses are in great demand. If you must cancel a reservation, please notify us immediately. By doing so you will allow someone on our waiting lists to take your place.
Confirmation and travel information will be sent to each student upon registration. Smith & Wesson Academy cannot be responsible for nonrefundable airline reservations in the event that a program is postponed due to insufficient enrollment. Please check with us before finalizing your travel plans.
Students should be able to speak, read, write and fully understand the English language in order to complete Academy programs. A handout, including an outline and reading material, is provided with each course.

Classes are held at the Smith & Wesson Academy on Page Boulevard in Springfield, Massachusetts. Class hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Armorer School classes run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Some classes are held at our range in Westfield, MA. Come prepared for that possibility in the summer months.
Students coming from overseas can have their lodging and rental car reservations made by the Academy.
Students are responsible for their own meals, lodging and transportation. Accommodation details and a list of required class equipment will be provided with your registration confirmation.
Preferred rates have been negotiated at several hotels in the area. A reduced rate on car rentals is also available to Academy students.
